Jörg Günter Brochnow

Jörg Günter Brochnow (born September 29, 1961 in Halle ) is a German lawyer. From 1990 to 1993 he was the first state chairman of the Junge Union in Saxony-Anhalt and in 1990 was a member of the last freely elected People's Chamber as a member of parliament.

Life

Brochnow attended a polytechnic high school in the district town of Halle from 1968 to 1978. After finishing school, he initially completed vocational training as a builder and cabinet maker until 1980. After completing the compulsory military service in 1981, he was able to take up a degree at the engineering school for mechanical engineering in Bautzen, which he completed in 1984 with a degree in mechanical engineering. During his studies Brochnow became a member of the CDU in the GDR in 1983. Then Brochnow found a job in his hometown of Halle as a trial manager in a company with large-scale test facilities. When there was a change in management staff in the CDU as part of the political change in the GDR, Brochnow was employed as an instructor for economics in the CDU district secretariat in Halle. He was also one of the founders of the CDU youth organization in the GDR, the CDJ, which was founded in 1989. In preparation for the Volkskammer elections on March 18, 1990, Brochnow, according to his own account, was involved as the CDU campaign manager in the Halle district. At the same time he ran for the first freely elected GDR parliament as CDU representative on list position 18 in electoral district 7, the district of Halle. Since the CDU won 20 seats in this constituency, Brochnow moved in as a member of the People's Chamber. After the CJD merged with the Junge Union, Brochnow was elected the first state chairman of the JU in Saxony-Anhalt in 1990. He remained in this office until 1993. By virtue of his office, he was also a member of the CDU state executive committee of Saxony-Anhalt. When it became clear that Brochnow would not be one of the 144 members of the People's Chamber who were accepted into the Bundestag, he enrolled at the MLU for a law degree, which he finished in 1995. After his legal clerkship in the area of ​​the OLG Naumburg and passing the 2nd state examination, Brochnow found a job in 1997 in the legal department of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Saxony. In 1999 Brochnow moved to a law firm in the Dresden suburb of Radebeul, where he worked until 2002. He then moved to the ETL Group in Dresden, a group of companies operating in 50 countries in the areas of auditing, tax advice, as well as legal and business advice. Brochnow himself has specialized in medical law.

Brochnow still works as an examiner for the German student funding of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung
