Jörg Haustein

Jörg Haustein (born December 11, 1957 in Ratingen near Düsseldorf , † November 13, 2004 in Bonn ) was a German Protestant theologian and university professor . He taught at Saarland University and Bonn University , among others .

Life

Jörg Haustein studied Protestant theology at the University of Kiel and received his doctorate in 1988 with the thesis " Martin Luther's position on wizarding and witchcraft ", which appeared in 1990 in the series "Munich Church History Studies". He then took a position as a research assistant at the denominational institute of the Evangelical Federation , where he was employed until 1999, most recently as head of the institute and director of the Evangelical Federation. In 1995 he completed his habilitation in church history at the University of Kiel.

After Friedrich Wilhelm Kantzenbach's retirement , Haustein applied for his position as professor of church history in the field of Protestant theology at Saarland University. After teaching at Saarland University for several semesters , he became professor of historical theology in 2000 . However, he stayed in Saarland for only one year and finally moved to the University of Bonn in 2001, where he was Professor of Church History until his sudden death on November 13, 2004.
