Jörg Heydorn (born September 23, 1957 in Dortmund ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and member of the state parliament in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Life and work

Heydorn attended school until 1973 and then trained as an offset printer . He graduated in 1978 as an administrative employee and worked from 1979 to 1981 in the central office for the allocation of study places in Dortmund. In 1983 he completed a qualification measure for the higher non-technical administrative service and then worked in 1981 from 1984 as a clerk and from 1985 to 1991 as head of the Bad Sachsa social welfare office . After reunification he moved to Schwerin in 1991 and took over the management of the social welfare office. In 1995 he left the administration and became managing director of Comtact - Society for Services, Infrastructure and Buildings mbH in Schwerin.

Heydorn is married and has one child.

Heydorn joined the SPD in 1993 and became a member of the SPD district executive in Schwerin.

Since 2002 he has been a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. From 2002 to 2006 he was Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Health, Social Affairs, Family, Women, Seniors, Youth and Sport. He is spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group for senior citizens and social policy as well as for forest and hunting policy. On October 24, 2011, he was elected deputy parliamentary group chairman, a position he held until the new election of the board in January 2014. Since February 1, 2012 he has been chairman of the study commission "Getting older in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania". His candidacy for this post has been criticized because he is the manager of a nursing service with 60 employees. In April 2016 he came under fire because his company Comtact received over € 120,000 per month from the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for an empty refugee home.
