Jörg Hillmer (* 21st May 1966 in Bad Bevensen ) is a German politician of the CDU and member of the parliament of Lower Saxony .

Education, work and family

After graduating from the Herzog-Ernst-Gymnasium in Uelzen in 1985 , he did his military service in Munster . After completing his training as a farmer , he studied business administration at the University of Lüneburg from 1988 to 1991 with a degree in business administration. He has been a self-employed farmer since 1985 . He is married and has four kids.

He has been a member of the Suderburg Samtgemeinde council since 1996, the Uelzen district council since 2006 and deputy district administrator since 2016. Since 2000 he has been chairman of the CDU district association in Uelzen. He has been a member of the district board of the CDU Northeast Lower Saxony since 2001 and the CDU state board of Lower Saxony since 2004. There he is chairman of the state committee for science and culture. In 2003 he was elected a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. He was a member of the Enquète Commission “ Demographic Change ” and until 2013 a member of the Committee on Economy, Labor and Transport. Since 2013 he has been vice chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and spokesman for the CDU for science and culture.
