Jörg Jacob

Jörg Jacob (born October 16, 1964 in Glauchau ) is a German writer .

Life

Jörg Jacob was born in Glauchau in Saxony in 1964. After training as an upholsterer , he worked in handicraft businesses, on the assembly line, in gastronomy , as an assistant carer and as an employee of a meeting place for art and culture . Jacob completed his Abitur at an evening grammar school and studied at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig .

After publishing short stories in well-known anthologies and magazines, he made his debut novel in 2006. Jörg Jacob has received various awards and grants, including the Gellert Prize for his novel “The Vineta Riff” and a multi-month residency grant from the Kulturstiftung der Länder for the Villa Decius in Krakow.
