Jörg Rommerskirchen

Jörg Rommerskirchen (born October 23, 1941 in Essen ) is a German economist and former State Secretary in the Berlin Senate .

biography

Jörg Rommerskirchen grew up as the son of CDU politician Josef Rommerskirchen . After elementary school he attended grammar school, which he left in 1963. He then went to sea and was trained as a navigator. He completed an integrated degree in economics, business administration, sociology and law at the Hamburg University of Economics and Politics , with a degree in economics. He initially worked for the German Employees' Union until 1973 . He then went to the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and in 1976 to the office of the Hessian Prime Minister Holger Börner , which he headed in 1980. After moving to Hamburg, he served as Senate Director in the local economic authority until 1989 and headed the Office for Port, Shipping and Transport. In the critical year 1989, he was State Secretary in the Economics Department of the Berlin Senate Momper . In 1993 he moved to the Berlin State Development Company as Managing Director and was Human Resources Director and Labor Director at GASAG from 1997 to 2001 . From 2002 to 2003 he worked in the same position for Berlin Brandenburg Airport Holding.

Rommerskirchen was initially a CDU member like his father, but joined the SPD in 1969 .
