Jörg Stülke

Jörg Stülke (born April 11, 1964 in Greifswald ) is a German microbiologist . Since October 2003 he has been Professor and Head of the Department of General Microbiology at the Georg-August University in Göttingen .

education and profession

From 1985 to 1990 Stülke studied biology , from 1990 to 1993 he did his doctorate with Michael Hecker at the Institute for Microbiology at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald . From 1994 to 1996 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Pasteur Institute in the group of Georges Rapoport and then completed his habilitation at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen at the chair of Wolfgang Hillen . Since 2003 Stülke has been a professor at the Institute for Microbiology at the Georg-August University in Göttingen .

Research work

Metabolism and gene regulation of Bacillus subtilis and Mycoplasma pneumoniae , development of bioinformatic tools. Stülke is co-editor of the Journal of Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology and a member of the editorial board of the journals Molecular Microbiology and Journal of Bacteriology .
