Jörn Munzert

Jörn Munzert (* 1958 ) is a German psychologist and sports scientist .

Life

Munzert studied psychology at the FU and TU Berlin from 1978 and graduated in 1983 with a diploma. A position as a research assistant at the Institute for Human Sciences in Work and Training at the TU Berlin from 1984 to 1989 enabled him to do his doctorate in 1988 . As a research assistant at the Institute for Psychology at the German Sport University Cologne from 1989 to 1995, he completed the 1995 habilitation in psychology with a focus on movement science . This was followed by a substitute professorship as a private lecturer at Bielefeld University in the department of movement and motor skills . From 1996 he received a professorship for sports science with a focus on sports psychology at the University of Giessen . From the winter semester of 2000, he switched to a better-equipped professorship for sports science with a focus on sports psychology and movement science within the same university.

The renowned sports psychologist used to be the publisher of the magazine for sports psychology and is now represented on the advisory board. He is also a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Sport Psychology, the German Society for Psychology , the German Association for Sport Science and the North American Society for Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity (NASPSPA).

Due to his scientific focus on brain research , Munzert is also part of the Neurophysics BrainAct research group at the Philipps University of Marburg . He participated in the general neuroscientific course at Philipps University in the 2015 summer semester with the lecture Imagination of Movement and Mental Training .
