Jörn Schepelmann (born April 7, 1986 in Celle ) is a German politician of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU).

Life and work

He grew up as the third of four children on the family farm in Eicklingen . After completing secondary school, he passed the Abitur at the commercial high school in Celle in 2006 and then completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Norddeutsche Landesbank in Hanover and then worked for NORD / LB for 9 years. While working at NORD / LB, he completed part-time training to become a banking specialist and certified accountant. From June 2015 until his election to the Lower Saxony state parliament, he worked at Volkswagen Financial Services AG in Braunschweig .

Political party

Jörn Schepelmann has been a member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany and the Young Union since 2009 . From 2010 to 2012 he was chairman of the Celle district association of the Junge Union. Jörn Schepelmann has been a member of the CDU Northeast Lower Saxony district committee since April 29, 2017 .

MP

On October 15, 2017, Schepelmann succeeded in entering the Lower Saxony state parliament for the CDU as a direct candidate in the Bergen state electoral district . He is a member of the Budget and Finance Committee and the Petitions Committee. In the subcommittee for budget accounting, he is the spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group. He is a deputy in the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection and in the Committee on Federal and European Affairs and Regional Development.

Local politics

Schepelmann has been a member of the Eicklingen municipal council and the council of the Flotwedel municipality since 2011 . From 2011 to 2016 he was a member of the district council of the district of Celle . He has been honorary mayor of the Eicklingen community since November 7, 2016.

Volunteering

Jörn Schepelmann has been an active member of the Eicklingen Volunteer Fire Brigade and member of the local shooting association since 2002 .
