Jørn Lyseggen (born December 1, 1968 ) is a Norwegian entrepreneur , founder and CEO of the Meltwater Group .

He holds many patents in the field of technologies for the use of artificial intelligence and pattern recognition processes. In 2001, Jørn Lyseggen founded Meltwater News - an international online media monitoring service - and thus laid the foundation for the Meltwater Group .

Since it was founded, Meltwater has developed into a leading international software as a service company ( SaaS ) with 700 employees at 55 locations and offers various online-based B2B services. The company has over 18,000 customers from a wide variety of industries.

In 2008 Lyseggen founded the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) in Ghana .

MEST offers Ghanaian university graduates a free two-year postgraduate training program in software entrepreneurship. Lyseggen's idea behind the non-profit organization is that Ghanaian software start-ups can make a decisive contribution to increasing the prosperity of the developing country in a globalized world.
