Burgau Jewish community

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Jewish community of Burgau was a Jewish community in the Swabian town of Burgau in what is now the district of Günzburg in Bavaria , which existed from the Middle Ages until 1634/35 . Due to the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War and the plague that broke out in the city in 1634/35, this Jewish community died out.

The Jewish cemetery in Burgau was used a little longer by other Jewish communities in the region that did not have their own Jewish cemetery. Apart from the field name Am Judenburied in the area in which the cemetery was located, nothing today refers to this cemetery.
