Dolní Bolíkov Jewish Community
The Jewish community in Dolní Bolíkov (German Wölking ), a district of the Czech community Cizkrajov in Okres Jindřichův Hradec in the South Bohemian region , was established in the 17th century.
history
The first documented reference to Jewish residents in Wölking comes from the year 1678. It was probably about refugees from Vienna who were accepted in the village.
In a major fire in 1822, 20 Jewish houses were also destroyed. The reconstruction took place within a few years.
After 1850, most of the Jewish residents left the place in a short time as the cities offered them better economic opportunities.
The Jewish community was dissolved in the early 1890s.
