Jewish cemetery (Diepholz)
The Diepholz Jewish Cemetery is a former Jewish cemetery that existed in Diepholz ( Diepholz district , Lower Saxony ) from 1774 to 1942 .
history
The former cemetery on the corner of Schlesierstrasse and Pommernstrasse was occupied from 1774 to 1938. During the Nazi era , the cemetery was devastated and the tombstones were used to build roads. Parts of the tombstones were found in 1994 while the road was being built. In 1997, a memorial was erected from the fragments on the cemetery grounds.
