Jewish cemetery (Sulingen)
The Sulingen Jewish Cemetery is a well-preserved Jewish cemetery in Sulingen ( Diepholz district , Lower Saxony ) and a cultural monument .
description
The Jewish cemetery is located on Memelstrasse in a small wooded area with oaks. The cemetery area is located next to a retirement and nursing home in a residential area with single-family houses. The cemetery is divided into two areas by an avenue of trees of life. The 30 tombstones document an occupation time from 1844 to 1934. Due to the gaps between the tombstones, large losses of graves can be assumed. After the Second World War, a memorial stone for unknown Russian prisoners of war was erected in a cemetery area.
