Jewish cemetery (Fliesteden)

The Fliesteden Jewish cemetery is located in the Fliesteden district of the city of Bergheim in the Rhein-Erft district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The cemetery is outside the village on a slope opposite the former sewage treatment plant. The area is 555 m². At the entrance a plaque indicates the importance of the place as a Jewish memorial. It was entered on the list of monuments of the city of Bergheim on July 14, 1989. Access is secured by a fence with a locked gate.

The cemetery was probably occupied as early as the 17th century and until 1921. Sarah Stock was the last to be buried. Today there are eight tombstones ( mazewot ), of which only three are undamaged. During and after the Nazi era , the cemetery was repeatedly destroyed or devastated.
