The Jewish cemetery is located in the street Auf dem Bürrig in Kerpen in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

The cemetery is surrounded by a hedge with a fence. The lawn is covered with tall trees. Today the cemetery is located in a newly built industrial area.

The largest Jewish cemetery in the district was occupied from before 1852 to 1938. There are still 91, according to other counts 80 tombstones ( mazewot ). Some are no longer legible or there are only bases left.

Gerd Friedt, who was honored with the Rhineland Taler in 2006 for researching Jewish life in Bergheim and the Rhein-Erft district , also recorded the history of the Jews in Kerpen.
