Jewish cemetery (Leese)
The Jewish cemetery Leese is a Jewish cemetery in Leese ( Nienburg / Weser district , Lower Saxony ). It is a protected cultural monument .

The 1115 m² cemetery on the “Zappenberg” street was laid out before 1771 on the spur of a small hill. There are 24 Jewish and 5 Polish graves on it. There are 19 tombstones on it for the Jewish deceased from Leese and the surrounding area from around 1800. The last burial took place in 1935.
The cemetery has been owned by the State Association of Jewish Communities in Lower Saxony since 1960 . The municipality of Mittelweser is responsible for maintenance .
Documentation with the photos and the translation of the inscriptions of all stones was carried out in 1989/1990 by the regional association.
