Jewish cemetery (Niederaussem)
The Niederaussem Jewish cemetery was near Niederaussem , a district of Bergheim in the Rhein-Erft district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
Today nothing can be seen of the Jewish cemetery . It was occupied from 1850 to 1918. Before that, the dead were buried in the Jewish cemetery in Bergheim . The burial place in Niederaussem went under in the course of the lignite mining . In 1954 the graves in the Jewish cemetery in Cologne-Bocklemünd were reburied. Eight of the original 18 tombstones ( Mazewot ) are still there today.
