Jewish cemetery (Friesack)
The Jewish cemetery in Friesack , a town in the Havelland district in the state of Brandenburg ( Germany ), was probably laid out in the 18th century. The Jewish cemetery is located on the western edge of the city on the country road to Rhinow , on Klessener Straße.
history
The oldest still legible tombstone ( Mazewa ) in the cemetery of the Jewish community Friesack is from 1829 (Isaac Salomon). The last gravestone is from 1925. The cemetery is on a small hill about half a meter to a meter above the surrounding area. Perhaps the cemetery was occupied in two shifts. Today 17 tombstones are still preserved. After 1945 the cemetery was in a neglected condition, in 1988 it was restored.
