history

The dead of the Jewish community were first buried in the cemetery in Oranienburg . A Jewish cemetery in Kremmen was established in 1815 and used until the beginning of the 20th century. The last burial was in 1905. The morgue was demolished in 1924. In 1957 there were still 30 graves left. In the period that followed, the cemetery was completely neglected: until around 1988 it was used as a garbage dump for the neighboring general cemetery, only afterwards was it restored.
