Jewish cemetery (Seligenstadt)

The Jewish cemetery in Seligenstadt , a municipality in the Offenbach district in southern Hesse , was laid out around 1714 and expanded in 1888 and 1926, respectively. The Jewish cemetery on Einhardstrasse is a protected cultural monument .

The 1,494 square meter cemetery was cleared during the Nazi era , the gravestones were smashed and mostly built in. From 1942 to 1945 the property was misused as pasture.

After 1945 the cemetery property was restored as much as possible. There were two more funerals in 1954 and 1965.
