Jewish cemetery (Sohren)
The Jewish cemetery Sohren is the burial place of the Jews in Sohren , a community in the Rhein-Hunsrück district in Rhineland-Palatinate . The Jewish cemetery is a protected cultural monument , it is located northeast of the village in a wooded area north of federal highway 50.
history
The Jewish community in Sohren built its own cemetery before 1850. It has an area of 29.47 ares and today there are 49 tombstones ( mazewot ). The oldest is from 1864 and the last burials took place in 1952 and 1965. In 1978 the cemetery was deedicated by the Koblenz Jewish Community and placed under monument protection in 1992.
