Grävenwiesbach Jewish cemetery
The Jewish cemetery Grävenwiesbach is a Jewish cemetery in Grävenwiesbach in the Hochtaunus district in Hesse . The cemetery is on Gartenstrasse in a residential area.
history
When the Jewish cemetery was established remains unclear. What is certain is that it was used as a burial place for at least 200 years and until 1925. Until 1884 Jews from Eschbach and Usingen were also buried there.
Originally the Jews of the Grävenwiesbach parish were buried in the Jewish cemetery in Naunstadt (parcel "In der Kirchhof"). Funerals were held there until at least 1748. Jews settled in Grävenwiesbach itself since the 17th century.
14 older tombstones have been preserved in the cemetery.
