Jürgen Bohm

Jürgen Dieter Böhm (born May 6, 1965 in Hirschberg (Saale) ) is a German secondary school teacher. Since 2010 he has been chairman of the Association of German Real School Teachers (VDR), since 2010 Vice President of the German Teachers 'Association (DL), since 2014 Chairman of the Bavarian Real School Teachers' Association (brlv) and since 2017 Deputy Federal Chairman of the German Association of Civil Servants (dbb and tarifunion).

Life

Jürgen Böhm grew up in the GDR and studied history and German at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . After completing his studies with a diploma and after completing his legal clerkship and second state examination, he taught at the State Realschule Pfarrkirchen in Bavaria from 1993 . In 2002, Böhm moved to the Staatliche Realschule Osterhofen as permanent deputy head of the school . In 2005 he became the founding director of the Staatliche Realschule in Arnstorf . In 2018 he completely switched from teaching to association work.

Engagement in association work

Böhm has been active in association work at the district, state and federal level in various functions and offices since 1998.

At the state level, he has been chairman in Bavaria since October 2014. In 2017 he was confirmed in his office.

Since 2010 he has been Vice President of the German Teachers Association.

In April 2010, Böhm was elected federal chairman of the Association of German Secondary School Teachers. His third term of office as federal chairman began in April 2018.

Since April 2010, Böhm was also a member of the federal executive board of the German Association of Civil Servants. From 2014 he was chairman of the School, Education and Science commission. In November 2017 Böhm was elected deputy federal chairman of the dbb and tarifunion. He is a member of the federal government.

In August 2018, Böhm switched completely from school work to association work.

Merits

Böhm was named "Germany's digital head" in 2014 by the Gesellschaft für Informatik e. V. (GI) and elected by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
