Jürgen Buchenau

Jürgen Buchenau (* 1964 ) is a historian and professor of history at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in the USA .

Live and act

Buchenau holds a PhD in History and a Certificate in Latin American History . He was initially visiting professor at the University of Hamburg in the Department of History (1994–1996) and Assistant Professor at Wingate University (1993–1997). He was also an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi (1997–1999) and then at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte , where he has been Professor of History since 2006 and Director of the Latin American Studies Department .

Buchenau was one of the authors of the history book Yearbook for the History of Latin America with the articles Plutarco Elías Calles and The Maximato in Revolutionary Mexico: A New Interpretation . This article gives a detailed overview of Mexican President Plutarco Elías Calles and his influence on the Provisional Presidents from 1928 to 1934.
