University of North Carolina at Charlotte
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (including UNC Charlotte , UNCC , University of Charlotte or Charlotte called) is a state university in Charlotte in the US state of North Carolina . The college was founded in 1946 . Today around 28,700 students are enrolled here, and the number of students is expected to grow to 35,000 by 2020. UNC Charlotte is part of the University of North Carolina system .

The university has four campus areas at different locations. In addition to the main campus, University City , there is the Charlotte Research Institute (research institute), the Uptown Charlotte Campus (economics, evening classes) and the South Charlotte (Ballantyne) campus (computer science).

Sports
The UNC Charlotte sports teams are the 49ers . The college has been a member of Conference USA since 2013 and has 16 different sports, including American football since 2013 . The inclusion of this sport is the main reason that Charlotte moved the Conference (previously she was part of the Atlantic-10 ).
