The Pfeiffer University is a private university based in Charlotte (North Carolina) . The campus for the undergraduate programs is located in Misenheimer, North Carolina, a 45-minute drive northeast of Charlotte . The Master’s degree programs with offers such as the Master of Business Administration (MBA) are located in Charlotte. Pfeiffer University is not a research university. There are no major research activities, with the exception of theses in the master’s degree programs.

The university is largely funded by tuition fees (approximately $ 27,000 per year) and the United Methodist Church, as well as private donations.

history

Pfeiffer University was founded in 1885 . Pfeiffer University was given its current name as a result of a generous donation from the New York business tycoon Henry Pfeiffer in 1934.

The 1,300 students in the Bachelor's degree programs are based on the Misenheimer campus. The Business School campus is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Research activities take place primarily in the so-called Triangle Region in the cities of Chapel Hill , Raleigh and Durham . Further master’s courses are also located at these locations.

Admission requirements and talent profile

The average SAT value of the students admitted to the Bachelor courses is between 950 and 1150. This corresponds to an average intelligence quotient (IQ) of 93 to 122. The average grade (GPA) of the applicants is 3.2. Students in the master’s degree courses qualify through letters of application or motivation and three independent letters of recommendation, which are to be sent to the admissions committee or the course director, and an admissions interview. A GMAT and the TOEFL English test for non-native speakers must also be taken.
