Jürgen Grote
Jürgen Grote (born February 21, 1936 in Schwerin ) is a German physiologist and university professor.
After graduating from high school in Melle in 1956 , Jürgen Grote studied medicine and natural sciences in Marburg and Kiel . In 1962 he passed his state examination and received his doctorate in Dr. med., 1964 Dr. rer. nat. and qualified as a professor in 1969 for physiology .
1973 Grote was appointed head of the department for applied physiology at the University of Mainz . In 1981 he was appointed to the chair for physiology at the University of Bonn , of which he was director until 2003.
Jürgen Grote was President of the Fritz Reuter Society from 1996 to 2018 . On January 9, 2017, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for his services to the promotion of the Low German language . Jürgen Grote has been co-editor of the articles of the Fritz Reuter Society since volume 9 ( DNB 018374379 ).
