Jürgen Hüholdt

Jürgen Hüholdt (born December 31, 1955 in Witten ) is a German entrepreneur and publicist. He was the founder and owner-manager of the tutoring company Studienkreis and now works as a financial advisor .

Life

As a schoolboy, Jürgen Hüholdt founded a group tutoring system in 1974, which he registered with the city of Herne as a commercial enterprise in 1976 at the age of 21 under the name of Studienkreis . The company grew nationwide. In 1999 the 1000th branch of the study group was opened. The tutoring company grew into one of the largest providers on the European education market. Since a large part of the branches are operated in the franchise system, the study group was among the ten largest franchisors in Germany at the end of the 1990s. Jürgen Hüholdt owned and headed the study group until 2003, when he sold the company to the Cornelsen publishing group .

Even during his time as managing director of the study group, Hüholdt was also active as a journalist and artist. His book Wunderland des Lernens was published in 1984 and reached twelve editions with almost 200,000 copies. In 2008 his non-fiction book Der Klimakrieg (Climate War) was published , which deals with climate change and energy policy. In addition, he also composed numerous pieces of music, working with Wolfgang Norman Dalheimer , among others . In 1994, together with other celebrities from business and society, he was a founding member of the Children for a better world association initiated by Florian Langenscheidt .
