Projects

CHILDREN discoverer

In Germany , 2.7 million children and young people under the age of 25 are affected by poverty, that is almost every fifth child. The CHILDREN Entdecker program combats the consequences of child poverty in Germany and enables children affected by poverty to develop healthily. These CHILDREN works with more than 60 facilities in deprived areas of Germany together and thus reached 4,500 children. One focus is on financing lunch. A balanced diet and cooking together help to promote social skills , to guarantee the children a regular daily routine and to offer the necessary nutrients good conditions for concentrated work. In addition, the CHILDREN Discovery Fund enables poor children and young people to go on excursions and activities that the children would otherwise be denied for financial reasons. The aim is for the sponsored children to acquire everyday skills, learn new things and broaden their horizons. These goals are also pursued by the CHILDREN discovery grant, with which CHILDREN sends several socially disadvantaged young people abroad for a school year every year.

CHILDREN youth helps!

Young people invest less and less time in social engagement . The reasons are a lack of time and recognition as well as a lack of content and financial support. The CHILDREN youth program helps! makes these missing resources available. It supports children and young people who are committed to helping people in poverty , illness , need or difficult life situations with their own social projects . CHILDREN youth helps! is based on three pillars: With the fund , young people are financially supported in their projects with up to 2,500 euros each, the coaching provides the young people with content- related support with various workshop offers and the ideal support is implemented in the form of a competition in which a jury selects the eight most promising projects of a funding year. These eight winning projects will be invited to Berlin to further develop their projects there in various workshops, to network with one another and to learn from one another. At a subsequent award ceremony, the winning projects are recognized for their social commitment.

CHILDREN Children's Council

In six CHILDREN children's councils nationwide, children and young people decide on funding amounts of up to 1500 euros per funding application. The task should give them an insight into the work of social institutions and motivate them to deal with the problems of children in Germany and around the world. There are children's councils in Berlin , Munich , Hamburg , Hanau , Dortmund and Münster . The idea of the CHILDREN Children's Council is based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child , which states, among other things, that children have the right to freely express their opinion in all things that affect them.
