Jürgen Köhne (born March 2, 1957 in Hanover ) has been the directly elected full-time mayor of the Lower Saxony city of Laatzen since November 1, 2014 . He is a member of the CDU .

Life

Jürgen Köhne grew up in Rethen and graduated from secondary school there. He then attended the commercial school in Hanover , where he obtained his secondary school diploma. In 1975 he began an administrative apprenticeship in what was then the district of Hanover , which was followed by training to become a civil servant in the upper general administrative service in the same authority. Köhne has been a graduate in administration since 1983 .

Jürgen Köhne initially worked in the area of ​​cultural funding for the district of Hanover, later, from 1990 to 2001, as a manager in the local organization department and the department for central services. After founding the Hanover region , he took on management tasks in personnel and organizational development at the authority. As of 2012, Köhne was responsible for the conception and development of a health management system for employees in the Hanover region as regional councilor and team leader of the occupational health and safety / health management team .

Jürgen Köhne has been active in local politics since 1996, initially until 2006 as a parliamentary group spokesman in the local council of the Laatzener district of Rethen. Member of the CDU since 2001, he was parliamentary group chairman in Laatzen city ​​council from 2006 to 2011 . In the mayoral election on May 25, 2014, he prevailed against incumbent Thomas Prinz ( SPD ) in the first ballot with a 50.6% share of the vote .

Since 1995, Köhne has been deputy chairman of TSV Rethen / Leine e. V.

Jürgen Köhne has a daughter from a previous marriage. On August 18, 2015, he married his partner Marita Flasbart (now Köhne); they live together in Gehrden .
