Jürgen Kleine

Jürgen Kleine (born March 3, 1938 in Wuppertal , † June 28, 1985 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German classical archaeologist .

Jürgen Kleine received his doctorate in 1971 under Gerhard Kleiner at the University of Frankfurt with a thesis on the subject of Attic art at the time of the Persian Wars. He then became a research assistant there, and in 1972 university lecturer. The basic work was published in 1973 under the title Investigations on the Chronology of Attic Art from Peisistratos to Themistocles . He took part in the excavations in Miletus , where he examined the Hellenistic city wall between 1968 and 1973.
