Jürgen Kroh

Jürgen Kroh (born November 24, 1944 in Heinzenbach ) is a German teacher and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Kroh passed the Abitur in 1964 and studied at a teacher training college from 1964 to 1966. In 1966 he passed the first examination for teaching at elementary schools. From 1971 to 1973 he attended the Educational Science University and completed his studies with the examination for teaching at special schools in Mainz. From 1966 to 1971 he was a primary school teacher in the Kusel district. From 1973 he was a special school teacher in Kaiserslautern and Zweibrücken, from 1974 a special school rector and head of the private school for the mentally handicapped in Zweibrücken, and later head of the Kaiserslautern study seminar.

From 1975 to 1976 he was deputy district chairman and 1977–1979 district chairman of the Junge Union. Between 1977 and 1991 he was deputy CDU district chairman and district treasurer.

He was a member of the Zweibrücken city council from 1979–1992, deputy parliamentary group chairman in 1981, parliamentary group manager in 1983 and parliamentary group chairman from 1989–1992. After 1999 he was again a member, 2004–2009 parliamentary group manager and 2009 member of the Zweibrücken city council. From 1992 to 1999 he was an honorary alderman and head of the building authority in Zweibrücken. In 2004 he became mayor in the Zweibrücken-Wattweiler district.

In 1983 he was elected to the tenth Landtag of Rhineland-Palatinate , to which he was a member for three terms until 1996. In the 10th electoral term he was a member of the Committee on Social Affairs and Health, the Committee on the Environment and the Committee on Petitions. In the 11th electoral term he was chairman of the "Hospital Target Plan" subcommittee of the Environment and Health Committee, a member of the Social and Family Affairs Committee, the Environment Committee, the Cultural Policy Committee and the Prison Commission. In the 12th electoral term he was deputy chairman of the penitentiary commission, member of the social policy committee and the investigation committee "Infected blood".
