Jürgen Schmidt-André
Jürgen Schmidt-André (born January 16, 1960 in Berlin ) is a German designer whose artistic work includes the design of TV sets, theater sets and exhibition stands.
Life
Jürgen Schmidt-André grew up in the eastern part of Berlin . There he completed an apprenticeship as a decorator and manufacturer of advertising materials . After working as a set design assistant to director Wolfgang Langhoff from 1979 to 1983, he received his doctorate in 1987 as a graphic and TV designer in Berlin. This was followed by work as a set designer for German television in the GDR as well as employment as a freelance set designer, designer and graphic artist. Schmidt-André has been running his Jürgen Schmidt-André studio in the Media City Adlershof in Berlin since 1995 .
Jürgen Schmidt-André is responsible for the first German television duel ("Das TV-Duell", 2002 Gerhard Schröder vs. Edmund Stoiber, and following), the Echo (music award) 2007, various RTL studio designs since 1998 and the first German virtual TV studio (" RTL aktuell ", in 2000). In 2005, his redesign of the RTL News studio won the Eyes & Ears Award. Drafts for RTL at the Telemesse and for trade fair appearances by Samsung at the international radio exhibition in Berlin, the World Cyber Games and CeBIT since 2003 were created in the area of exhibition stand design.

Awards
Jürgen Schmidt-André has been awarded the "Gold Television Prize of the GDR", the "iF communication design award" and several times the "ADAM Messeaward" and the "Eyes & Ears Award" for his work. His work earned him nominations for the " German Television Prize " and the " Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany ".
