Jürgen Stemmer (born October 30, 1962 ) is a former German soccer player .

Athletic career

Stemmer played at SV Borbeck in his youth before joining Rot-Weiss Essen . There the young player moved up into the professional squad as a teenager and made his debut in the 2-0 home defeat against SC Freiburg in September 1981 as a substitute for Jürgen Sekula in the 2nd Bundesliga . In the course of the 1981/82 season he played a total of seven championship games, the midfielder remained without a goal. He later moved to Hertha BSC , at the Berlin club he stayed without playing in the professional field. In 1987 Stemmer moved to SV 98 Schwetzingen in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg , but left the club again after one season.
