Jürgen Wöhler

Jürgen Otto Wöhler (born May 10, 1950 in Oberlahnstein ) is a German lawyer and manager . From June 1, 2007 to May 31, 2012, he was managing director of the "German-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry" in Seoul .

education

After graduating from high school and two years in the armed forces (major in the reserve since 1987), he completed a law degree and a master’s degree in economics, history and politics at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the University of Geneva from 1972 to 1977 . After the first state examination in law, he was a research fellow in Washington DC in 1977 at Georgetown University and in 1978 added a Diplôme d'Etudes supérieures de Droit Comparé at the Université de Strasbourg . In 1980 he passed the second state examination in law in Stuttgart and was admitted to the bar in Stuttgart.

Career

From 1981 to 1983 he was an official of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior and head of the building law office in the Ludwigsburg district. From 1983 to 1985 he worked at the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg in the state representation in Bonn, as a representative of the state in Bundestag and Bundesrat committees. In 1985 he was appointed to the Upper Government Council. From 1985 to 1987 he was deputy managing director of the German-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Seoul. From 1987 to 2007 he was responsible, among other things, for the foreign business of the Landesbank Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart . From April 2007 to 2012 he was managing director of the German-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Seoul.

He is also registered as an arbitrator on the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) in London.
