Jürgen Alfred Georg zur Mühlen (born September 3, 1960 ) is a Rear Admiral in the German Navy and has been the Department Head of Operations in the Naval Command since August 2017 .

Life

Zur Mühlen joined the Navy in 1979 and was trained as a naval officer with Crew VII / 81 . After studying economics and organizational sciences, he was employed as officer on watch and submarine hunting officer. From July 1991 to September 1992 and then again from October 1993 to September 1995 he was the first ship operations officer on the frigate Lübeck . From September 1998 to April 2000, Zur Mühlen was first officer of the frigate Bavaria . From 2002 to 2004 he was in command of the frigate Lübeck.
