JR Romano

Joseph Robert Romano (* in Derby , Connecticut ) an American politician and chairman of the Republican Party of Connecticut since 2015 .

Life

Romano grew up in Derby, Connecticut and attended high school there . He then attended Trinity College in Hartford , Connecticut. After graduating from college, he became Political Director of the Connecticut Republican Party. In 2004 and 2006, he ran each in the 104th electoral district for a seat in the Connecticut House of Representatives , but was defeated both times by the Democratic incumbent Linda M. Gentile .

In June 2015, he was elected party leader of the Connecticut Republican Party, asserting himself against Senator Joe Markley, among others . The previous party chairman Jerry Labriola junior had renounced a third term.

Romano is a licensed financial advisor . He was also the coordinator for Americans for Prosperity in Connecticut.
