Bernard Hunnekink

Bernard Hunnekink (* 1946 as Bernhard Hunnekink ) is a Dutch brass player ( trombone , also on tuba , occasionally on other instruments) and composer who has made a name for himself in the field of jazz .

Live and act

Hunnekink learned accordion and piano from the age of six. He first studied trombone at the municipal music high school in Arnhem, before moving to Amsterdam in the fourth year of his studies, where he played in the Amsterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1972 he was a founding member of Orkest De Volharding . In 1974 Willem Breuker brought him into his collection , to which he belonged until it was dissolved in 2013 and on whose records he can often be heard as a soloist, initially often in a duo with Willem van Manen . He also composed for the Kollektief . In addition, he led his own ensemble and occasionally played in Bo van de Graaf's I Compani . He also wrote the score for several films , including the documentary Blois: Couleur locale , which deals with the stained glass windows of Blois Cathedral made by Jan Dibbets . He also wrote music for theater and television and the piece Fratsen for wind orchestra . He also worked as an arranger for Eric Vloeimans . Between 1972 and 2007 he took part in 75 recordings in the field of jazz.
