JOMI
Josef Michael Kreutzer alias JOMI (* 1952 in Bous (Saar) ) is a German pantomime. He has been deaf since early childhood.
Life
JOMI studied with Marcel Marceau in Paris . Since 1981 he has made a name for himself worldwide as a solo pantomime. He also passes on his art as a lecturer in body language and pantomime. For several years he directed the JOMI school for performing arts in his hometown . In 1988 he founded the International Pantomime Festival , a biennial that brings together artists from various origins in Saarland. In 1991 he was teaching pantomime and body language at the Saarland University of Music and Theater in Saarbrücken .
The deaf artist was appointed to the board of EUCREA, the European association for creativity by and with disabled artists , in 1997 . His tours have taken JOMI to all European countries, Africa and above all to Latin America. In its artistic work, JOMI is primarily concerned with the critical communication of social issues and the discussion of theological and religious problems. In addition to a lyrical representation, he also deliberately uses parody.
