The Journal of Ethnopharmacology , abbreviated J. Ethnopharmacol. is a scientific journal published by Elsevier- Verlag. It is the official journal of the International Society for Ethnopharmacology . The first issue appeared in January 1979. Currently, 18 issues are published each year. The magazine is dedicated to the exchange of information about the use of plants, fungi, animals, microorganisms and minerals by humans. A special focus is on ethnopharmacological (also ethnobotanical and ethnochemical) study approaches.

The impact factor in 2014 was 2.998. According to the statistics of the ISI Web of Knowledge , the journal with this impact factor ranks 79th out of 254 in the pharmacology and pharmacy category , 41st out of 200 journals in the botany category, and 18th out of 200 journals in the medicinal chemistry category 59 journals and ranked third out of 24 journals in the integrative and complementary medicine category.
