Jaana Sandström

Jaana Marita Sandström (born August 2, 1963 in Lappeenranta ) is a Finnish economist and university professor .

Career

Sandström studied at Lappeenranta Technical University . In 1987 she graduated from the university with a Bachelor of Science and in 1994 with a licentiate . Until she was appointed professor in 1999, she worked as a lecturer in accounting and completed her doctorate in 2001 as a Dr. Sc. Between August 2009 and September 2014 she was the dean of the business school at the university, after which she was promoted to vice-rector.

Under Sandström's direction of the business school of the Dean of the Technical University of Lappeenranta, the facility was modernized and subsequently received an accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development . In 2012 she was appointed to the head of the organization's accreditation body. She continued the conceptual revision for the entire university in her role as Vice Rector.

Sandström's focus in research and teaching is in the areas of bookkeeping, management strategies and issues of industrial engineering. Lately she has dealt in particular with issues relating to sustainability and corporate social responsibility .
