The Technical University of Lappeenranta (LUT) ( Finnish until 2003: Lappeenrannan teknillinen korkeakoulu , LTKK, since 2003: Lappeenrannan teknillinen yliopisto , LTY) is a Finnish state university in Lappeenranta . There are about 5700 students and about 980 employees.

history

The technical college teknillinen korkeakoulu was founded in 1969 and has grown steadily since then. After the expansion to include business subjects in the 1990s, it was renamed “Technical University” ( teknillinen yliopisto ) in 2003 .

students life

As usual for Finnish universities, the student councils ensure a rich student life. Nationally known is the LUT for Finland's longest Vappu , which extends over a period of two weeks.
