The Jack London Lake ( Russian Озеро Джека Лондона ) is a lake in the Oblast Magadan in Russia's Far East .
It is located at around 800 meters above sea level in the largely uninhabited Annatschag Mountains , stretches from southeast to northwest over a length of around 10 kilometers and belongs to the Kolyma catchment area . The lake is located about 50 kilometers south of the urban-type settlement Jagodnoye . Its outflow Kjujol-Sijen flows into the Kolyma reservoir after a good 15 kilometers from the left .
The previously unnamed lake was named in 1932 by the Soviet geologist Pyotr Skornjakow (1909–1953) after the American writer Jack London (1876–1916).
