Jack Evans (born 1928 - October 2, 2009 in Perth ) was an Australian politician .

biography

Evans co-founded the Australian Democrats alongside Don Chipp in 1977 and was one of its leading politicians for many years.

Between 1983 and 1985 he was a member of the Senate , where he represented the interests of the Australian Democrats of Western Australia .

Long-term cancer Evans was described as a symbol of a political era within the Australian Democrats after his death by former Western Australian Senator Andrew Murray.
