Jack Robson

John "Jack" Robson (* around 1860 in Durham ; † January 11, 1922 in Manchester ) was an English football coach and manager.

Career

Robson began his coaching and managerial career at Middlesbrough FC . He led Middlesbrough FC from an amateur club to a professional club. The Englishman was also the very first manager and coach of Crystal Palace . He also coached Brighton & Hove Albion and was the first official Manchester United coach who was not designated as secretary. Robson died in his office as ManU coach on January 11, 1922 of pneumonia .
