Jacob Bender von Bienenthal (born March 12, 1644 in Frankfurt am Main ; † November 10, 1695 ibid) was a German politician in the imperial city of Frankfurt.

Life

Bender von Bienenthal was the son of Frankfurt's senior mayor Christoph Bender von Bienenthal and his wife Susanna nee Ayrer. The family belonged to the patrician society Zum Frauenstein . In 1666 he married Maria Margarethe, the daughter of Johann Philipp Fleischbein von Kleeberg . Their son Johann Christoph Bender von Bienenthal (1670–1748) also became a lawyer in Frankfurt.

Bender von Bienenthal attended grammar school in Frankfurt am Main and studied law from 1660 at the University of Helmstedt and from 1663 at the University of Heidelberg . He disputed in Heidelberg . After graduating, he traveled to France, the Netherlands and Italy.

Bender von Bienenthal was an administrative officer and diplomat in the imperial city of Frankfurt. In 1673 he became the keeper of the alms box and in 1678 he became a councilor . In 1686 he was the junior mayor. In 1690 he was promoted to aldermen.
