Jacob Thuesen

Jacob Thuesen (born May 25, 1962 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish film editor and film director .

Jacob Thuesen studied film at the State Film School in Copenhagen. He graduated in 1991 and began working in the field of film editing . He worked as editor for Lars von Trier , Susanne Bier and Annette K. Olesen, among others . As a director, he first made a short film and a documentary before presenting his first feature film in 2005. In 2005 he was awarded the European Film Prize in the European Discovery of the Year category for the defendant . The film also ran in the competition at the Berlinale 2005 .

In 2007 he presented his second feature film. Erik Nietzsche - The early years was based on a script by Lars von Trier. Thuesen also works as a director for Danish television and continues to work as an editor.
