Writing
The first title of his book - Prins Desi - appeared in 1987. The theme is the fight between Dési Bouterse and Ronnie Brunswijk . The book was published because of the Dutch crime writer Tomas Ross, who recognized Jacob Vis's talent. The first book was enthusiastically received. After two books by book publisher Het Spectrum were published, the third book by Jacob Vis was rejected. The book publisher Ellessy Crime was then ready to publish Vis's books. Several Vis books starred “Ben van Arkel”. The German Grafit Verlag will publish all books with Van Arkel in German in the coming years.
