Jacobus Polius

Jacobus Polius (* 1588/89 in Zülpich ; † June 6, 1656 in Cologne ) was a German superior and historian.

Polius was born as the son of the wildsperson writer Johann Pool. He became guardian of the Franciscan monastery Bethanien in Düren, today St. Mary's Church . He was also Düren's first historian . Later he was a chronicler of the Franciscan Order Province of Cologne .

Poliusstraße was named after Jacobus Polius in his hometown in 1889 .
